Eye laser reshapes the cornea so that light focuses correctly without glasses or contact lenses. We work with three methods: SMILE Pro for short-sightedness without a flap, Femto-LASIK for the widest range including long-sightedness, and Presbyond for reading glasses after 45. Both eyes are treated in one session of about 20–30 minutes; most patients see clearly within hours. Which method is yours is decided by the examination, not by preference.

SMILE® Pro
Minimally invasive keyhole laser. The gentlest option for short-sighted eyes.
- Short-sighted, −0.5 to −10 D, with or without astigmatism.
- You do contact sport or your eyes tend to be dry.
- You want the smallest possible intervention: 2 mm, no flap.
Widest range
Femto-LASIK
The proven all-rounder. Also for long-sightedness; clear within hours.
- Long-sighted up to +4 D, or short-sighted up to −10 D.
- You want the fastest visual recovery — often the same evening.
- Cornea thick enough for a flap. We measure this.
Reading glasses
Presbyond®
Laser blended vision: near and far after 45, based on Femto-LASIK.
- 45 or older, and reading glasses are the main problem.
- Your natural lens is still clear — no cataract yet.
- You tolerate a small difference between the eyes; we test this first.

Prices are not published online because they depend on the findings of your examination. We answer cost questions personally: ask us.

You tell us about your eyes and your current values in a private conversation. Dr. Kanal says which method is realistic for you. If the answer is no, you do not travel.

Which laser method is right for me?
That depends on your prescription, your cornea and your life: SMILE Pro for short-sighted eyes that want no flap, Femto-LASIK for the widest range including long-sightedness, Presbyond for reading glasses after 45. The examination decides, not preference.
Laser or lens — how do I know?
Laser reshapes the cornea and needs enough healthy tissue; it covers about −10 to +4 D. Above that, with a thin cornea or after 45 with a beginning cataract, a lens inside the eye is the better answer. We tell you at the examination — or beforehand in the remote assessment.
Does it hurt?
No. Drops numb the eye. You feel pressure for seconds and see a green light. A scratchy feeling in the first hours is normal.
Both eyes on the same day?
Yes. All three laser methods treat both eyes in one session.
How long do the results last?
The correction of the cornea is permanent. The eye still ages: reading glasses can come from the mid-forties, and a cataract can develop later as in any eye.
Who performs the treatment?
Dr. med. Levent Kanal, the head surgeon, performs every laser treatment himself. In Wiesbaden and Düsseldorf.
I live far away. How many days do I need?
Three days: examination, treatment, first check. We first assess remotely whether laser is realistic for you; then you travel. Afterwards, routine eye check-ups near your home.
