Five questions give you a first orientation in about a minute. The answer points to one or two candidates and explains why. It is not a diagnosis — the examination measures what your eye allows, and Dr. Kanal decides with you.

How the answer is made
The same rules as at the examination, simplified to five questions. The examination adds what only measurements can show.
Age
Under 21 we wait for a stable prescription. Up to about 45, laser or ICL. From 45, reading glasses bring Presbyond or a lens exchange into play. After 60 the lens itself is usually the answer.
Prescription and cornea
Laser covers about −10 to +4 D and needs a thick, regular cornea. Above that, or with dry eyes and a thin cornea, a lens inside the eye takes over.

Contact sport, night driving, small print, the fastest recovery — each priority favours a different method or lens type. That is why we ask.
